About

Worden Lab OEB Scientists create an innovative scientific research environment wherein all members feel valued, engaged, respected, and appreciated on the basis of their work and multi-faceted identities, shaped by their origins, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, and physical abilities. Together, we develop and implement novel approaches to identify mechanisms underpinning biochemical transformations and interactions of marine organisms to understand carbon cycling processes and trophic transfer under ocean change scenarios.

Equity, diversity and inclusivity are core values.

Together with our collaborators from across the globe, fellow MBL and University of Chicago teams, we strive to understand carbon flow in the marine environment as mediated by microbes, including unicellular eukaryotes, from the most fundamental levels of biochemical pathways and evolutionary biology to cell-to-cell interactions, and communities.
