Join us in our quest to understand the natural world and microbial responses to the perturbations imposed by humans and nature. Fostering the next generation in developing robust science skills, discovery, and leadership is very important to the team. We are always looking for talented folks to join, whether undergrads, grad students, postdoctoral fellows, or visiting scientists. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and genders.

Although we do not list each specific project in the Worden Lab you can get a good sense of what we are up to by looking at recent publications – there is always a gap in what we are doing and when it appears in print – but you get a sense of the various directions this way. If you are interested in working with the group please send a letter contextualizing your interests in the approaches we take - and tell us about your team spiritedness. It is always good to have an idea if there are funding opportunities that might support you. Whether its about your next step or more the world of microbial interactions and ocean productivity you can write to Alexandra Worden (Alex) at azworden [at] mbl.edu.

The lab is located at the Josephine Bay Paul Center for Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA which is an affiliate of the University of Chicago where Alex is a Professor in the Department of Geosciences. Some group members are based at the Max Planck Institute For Evolutionary Biology in Plön Germany, where Alex is a Fellow.
